"OLD FASHIONED FRIENDLY SERVICE"
Since 1987, Cousins Fuel Oil, Heating and Cooling has been installing and repairing heating systems in the Bristol, CT area. A family owned and operated business, they pride themselves on quality service and fair prices. Everything is in a constant state of change. Technology advances cause older heating equipment to be less efficient than new models. Sometimes a system is replaced due to the cost savings in fuel consumption rather than because it broke down to a point of no repair. The sub components in your system may be replaced with a substitute of a superior design offering some advantage.
Fuel oil heating systems:
Boiler System: This system uses radiators and/or baseboard filled with water to distribute heat throughout your home.
Furnace System: A furnace uses a duct system integrated to deliver volumes of heated air to your living space.
Hydro Air System: Hydro air combines the boiler and furnace concepts. It uses a boiler to transfer heat to a coil located in a ducted system where a fan is used to transfer the heat to the living space.
Steam System: A steam system utilizes radiators whereby steam is directed to deliver high temperatures to your living space.
Solar Collector System: Also referred to as solar harvesting. Radiation from the sun is collected and directed to serve a function for you. People have used this equipment to heat their domestic water or even their swimming pool. It is viable to heat your home as well. In New England you could easily supplement your primary heating system to save on purchased energy consumption.
Geothermal System: Geothermal uses heat from the ground to heat your home. Please email us for more information.

Gas heating Systems
Gas Fired Boiler: This system uses radiators and/or baseboard filled with water to distribute heat through your home.
Gas Fired Furnace: A furnace uses a duct system integrated to deliver volumes of heated air to your living space.
Gas Fired Condensing Boiler: Condensing boilers are highly efficient at 94% and up.
Combination Heating and Cooling Systems
Heat Pump: A heat pump is an air conditioning system in reverse operation. It will gather heat from the outside air and distribute the heat into your home.
Flex Inverter/Heat Pump: This system can modulate its cooling power to flex the cooling load across multiple evaporators. Each evaporator can handle one zone. It works the same providing heat during the cooler months.
Central Air with Heat Pump: A central air system with a heat pump function built into it. This will heat or cool based on your thermostats setting.
Ductless mini-split with Heat Pump: A ductless mini-split system with the heat pump function built into it. This will heat or cool based on your thermostats setting.
Oil Fired Water Heater: A water tank heated by an oil burner.
Gas Fired Water Heater: A water tank heated with natural gas.
Indirect Water Heater: This method requires either a gas or oil fired boiler. The water heater would heat itself using the water from the boiler. It kind of operates like a zone of heat with the boiler.
On Demand Water Heater: This equipment will not store water on temperature. It heats the water while you’re using it. Sized properly it will offer a seemingly endless supply of water.
